Study Abroad in Granada: Beyond the Classroom

Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of Spanish culture, the Resident Director arranges several cultural activities.

Past activities have included:

  • Welcome party
  • Tour of the Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens
  • Visit to the Albaicin district
  • Tour of the Cathedral and Royal Chapel
  • Hiking excursion to Monachil (Sierra Nevada mountains)
  • Soccer and volleyball games
  • Walks to Sacromonte district, Barrio del Abogado district and along the Genil river
  • Spanish movie night
  • Visit to the Carmen de los Mártires gardens
  • Visit to the home of the poet F. García Lorca
  • Goodbye party with Flamenco Show and tapas
Students on the 6-week program may also enjoy wine tasting courses, a photo contest, day in the Sierra Nevada mountains horseback riding and an afternoon in the Arab baths.
