Study Abroad in Cannes: Beyond the Classroom

Thanks to Cannes’ sunny climate, you can swim, play tennis, waterski or sail for much of the year, or participate in team sports such as basketball, soccer or volleyball. During the spring semester, ski at Isola 2000, a 2-hour drive away.

Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of French culture, a wealth of cultural activities and excursions are included in your program fee; others are available at a small additional cost. Past activities have included:

  • Local museum visits (Castre Museum in Cannes; Picasso Museum in Antibes; Museum of Modern Art, Matisse and Chagall Museums in Nice)
  • International Perfume Museum in Grasse
  • Boat trip to the St. Marguerite island to see the cell of the man in the iron mask
  • Visit to Cistercian monastery, founded in the fourth century on St. Honorat Island
  • Boat trip to St. Tropez
  • Excursions to Monaco, Nice, Gorges du Verdon (French Grand Canyon), St. Remo (Italy); Aix en Provence; Cassis; Saint Paul de Vence
  • Sightseeing in Antibes and Biot

  • Ice cream or crêpe afternoons
  • Pottery workshop
