Study Abroad in Prague: Beyond the Classroom

Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of Czech culture, a wealth of cultural activities and excursions are included in your program fee.

The Resident Director organizes a variety of activities which usually include:

  • Weekly Prague walks with historical and architectural commentary
  • Performances such as theater, ballet and philharmonic concerts
  • Castle visits including:
    • Orlik Castle
    • Zvikov Castle
    • Dobris Castle
  • Sports events such as hockey or soccer games
  • Pilsen city tour
  • Czech Bohemian Glassworks factory
  • Botanical gardens
  • Visit historical sites connected to WWII
    • Theresienstadt
    • Lidice village
    • the architectural town of Dresden
  • Formal dinner
  • Czech lessons with AIFS staff members
ECES Activities In addition to the academic program, students are invited to participate in all other ECES activities including volunteer opportunities. These include field trips to other cities and theatrical events for which students sign up and pay ECES directly.
