Nihao! I’ve worked for AIFS for over 20 years, planning and delivering programs in many countries and have established programs specifically in China since 2004. I’m here to help you develop understanding and confidence during your time studying abroad.

I graduated from the London School of Economics, undertook postgraduate certificates and diplomas in education and received an MA in Education Management as well as qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. I have taught at Richmond University and various institutions of Higher Education. In my spare time I am a keen economist and regularly contribute articles on economic affairs for China Daily – China’s largest English language newspaper.

Having lived in both the U.S. and China, I will help you value every minute of your time here in this wonderful city. You will love the extreme contrasts between the long history and modern buildings in China. I look forward to welcoming you to the country that has become my home!

Special features of the AIFS program:

The programs in China are all at highly reputable Chinese universities with special academic arrangements for both carefully constructed introductory level Mandarin courses (and beyond) and for a range of courses taught in English. They include a rich cultural program and extensive escorted visits to other locations in this huge country. While Colin focuses on academic and cultural program support and logistics, carefully selected and trained bilingual residence staff provide students with opportunities to get involved in campus activities.
